Drug and Alcohol addiction are ubiquitous afflictions that affect so many lives around us. People become dependent on drugs and alcohol for a number of reasons. Every person has their own unique story and road that took them there. One common thread most people share when they become dependent on alcohol and drugs is the emotional and physical effects dependency causes. If left untreated, addiction adversely impacts self-esteem, relationships and, eventually, every aspect of life.

MICS will work with each juvenile individually in increasing anger management techniques, substance abuse and dependence disorders, positive communication skills, effective family communication, and positive community involvement. Our objective is to provide necessary programming that will address and focus on resistance and relapse prevention skills, addiction and substance abuse, mental and behavioral health issues to include improving school and family functioning.

Group Therapy
In group therapy, you benefit through both active participation and through observing others. This means that you can get a lot out of the experience even if you say very little. Listening carefully to someone else’s experience and the issues that they are working through causes you to reflect upon and learn about yourself. In hearing other’s experiences, you may find yourself becoming acutely aware of feelings and thoughts that have been unacknowledged or were previously unknown to you.

In 2008 Mindful Innovations Counseling Services, PLLC (MICS) was established as a private practice to provide outpatient treatment to individuals and families in search for Behavioral/Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. MICS is dedicated to servicing Bexar County and its surrounding population. MICS consists of Licensed Professionals who are proficient in their area of specialty.
Our goal is to improve your daily struggles by targeting the challenging tasks in your life. Through mindful thinking and innovative work, our Licensed Professionals can guide you to a brighter tomorrow. Residents of Bexar County seeking quality mental health care place their trust in the licensed-level of MICS. Our diverse expertise benefits patients in need of family or couples therapy, as well as individuals with a range of emotional challenges or addiction issues all treated with the caring, unified approach of psychotherapy best practices and skilled medication management.
As the area’s first full-service therapy collective, we assist members of this dynamic community who may face a crisis at home or worrying setbacks at work. Many also turn to us for a richer understanding of their lives and the behavioral patterns that impede personal growth and fulfillment.
